An 80 year old man, became irritable and confused on waking up. He was restless, collided with the door frame as he entered the room. He looked shabby, his spectacles were hanging, and he denied any problem. His neurological examination revealed sensory extinction and mild weakness on the left side. You test his reading ability and give him a newspaper. What is the most likely way in which he will read the paper?

Patient has left hemineglect and has a right parietal stroke. Patients with neglect do not read left side of sentences, they start reading from the middle. Letter by letter reading is seen in occipital lesions due to simultagnosia. Hanging spectacle sign is seen in right hemispheric lesions.
